Job Summary
World Renew is seeking an experienced Country Program Lead – Nigeria to provide day-to-day leadership and coordination of its Nigeria program. The successful candidate will oversee program implementation, strengthen partnerships, ensure quality programming, integrate MEAL processes, monitor risks, and support compliance while working closely with the Regional Director and regional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination
- Coordinate the implementation of World Renew’s Nigeria program portfolio.
- Translate strategic priorities into practical work plans.
- Lead internal program coordination meetings.
- Monitor project deliverables, timelines, risks, and follow-up actions.
- Ensure activities comply with approved budgets, donor requirements, and organizational policies.
- Prepare monthly program updates for the Regional Director.
- Support annual planning and strategy discussions.
Partner Management
- Serve as the primary contact for local implementing partners.
- Coordinate partner meetings and work plan reviews.
- Support partners in planning, implementation, documentation, and reporting.
- Strengthen partner monitoring systems and accountability practices.
- Follow up on partner financial reports and project liquidations.
- Identify and escalate partner performance issues.
- Support partner capacity development.
Program Quality & Reporting
- Ensure quality implementation of projects.
- Prepare donor reports and internal program reports.
- Ensure reports are supported by reliable data and field evidence.
- Promote learning across projects and partners.
- Document success stories and lessons learned.
- Participate in regional learning initiatives.
MEAL & Accountability
- Integrate MEAL into project planning and implementation.
- Support monitoring tools and reporting systems.
- Promote accountability mechanisms for communities.
- Use MEAL findings to improve project delivery.
- Support monthly and quarterly program dashboards.
Representation & Coordination
- Represent World Renew in technical coordination meetings.
- Participate in government, NGO, and sector coordination forums.
- Prepare meeting briefs and updates for the Regional Director.
- Support donor engagement and strategic partnerships when required.
Risk, Security & Compliance
- Monitor operational, security, safeguarding, and implementation risks.
- Ensure compliance with security procedures.
- Support logistics and travel coordination.
- Escalate security incidents, fraud concerns, and safeguarding issues promptly.
Finance & Budget Coordination
- Monitor program expenditure against approved budgets.
- Explain budget variances during monthly reviews.
- Ensure project implementation aligns with available funding.
- Coordinate program, financial, and narrative reporting.
Team Leadership
- Supervise Program Assistants and the MEAL Assistant.
- Provide coaching and performance feedback.
- Coordinate weekly team meetings.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and transparency.
Safeguarding & Organizational Values
- Promote World Renew’s mission and values.
- Ensure safeguarding, child protection, and anti-fraud standards are followed.
- Report safeguarding or misconduct concerns through appropriate channels.
- Model integrity, transparency, and responsible stewardship.
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, International Development, Agriculture, Humanitarian Response, Project Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in program management.
- Experience working with NGOs, community organizations, churches, or humanitarian partners.
- Strong understanding of fragile and conflict-affected environments.
- Experience in project planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting.
- Knowledge of MEAL systems and accountability frameworks.
- Experience with budget monitoring and program-finance coordination.
- Strong representation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong written and spoken French is required; English is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
