Slum and Rural Health Initiative is a nonprofit organization that started operations in 2017 and is officially registered in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Gambia whivh improves access to healthcare information and services in Africa, especially in vulnerable and underserved communities using the tools of advocacy, research, and technology. We are a โmultidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, social scientists, information technology experts, researchers, graphic designers, and social entrepreneurs who are passionate about changing the sad narrative of healthcare information and service delivery in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and other parts of Africa.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Cybersecurity Specialist
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Role Overview
- Safeguard SRHIN’s digital infrastructure, data, and systems against security threats, ensuring compliance with data protection standards given the sensitive health data handled by the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor systems and networks for security breaches and vulnerabilities.
- Implement and maintain security protocols, firewalls, and encryption standards.
- Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and penetration testing.
- Develop and enforce data protection and privacy policies in line with relevant regulations (e.g. NDPR).
- Respond to and manage security incidents.
- Train staff on cybersecurity best practices and data protection.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP) are an advantage.
- 2โ3 years’ experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
- Strong knowledge of network security, encryption, and data privacy regulations.
- Experience securing health data systems is a plus.
