About CHDPI
The Centre for Human Dignity and Peace Initiative Foundation (CHDPI) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization committed to promoting human dignity, peacebuilding, child protection, community development, humanitarian assistance and sustainable livelihoods for vulnerable populations across Nigeria.
CHDPI works closely with communities, government institutions and development partners to improve the well-being of women, children, youth and other vulnerable groups through quality humanitarian and development interventions.
Background
Under the UNHCR/GISCOR Project, CHDPI invites qualified and experienced individuals to express interest in serving as a Durable Solutions Information Session Facilitator for community members in MMC/Abbaganaram, Borno State.
Purpose of the Role
The Facilitator will support the delivery of a community-based information session on durable solutions, ensuring that participants receive accurate, clear and protection-sensitive information that promotes safety, dignity, rights and informed decision-making.
The Facilitator will also ensure that the session is inclusive, participatory and guided by the Do-No-Harm principle.
Key Responsibilities
The selected Facilitator will be responsible for:
- Delivering accurate, clear and protection-sensitive information on durable solutions.
- Facilitating interactive community information sessions and encouraging meaningful participation.
- Explaining technical information in simple and accessible language.
- Responding appropriately to participantsโ questions while avoiding misinformation or false expectations.
- Promoting safety, dignity, rights, informed decision-making and the Do-No-Harm principle.
- Ensuring meaningful participation of women, youth, persons with disabilities and older persons.
- Identifying protection concerns and guiding participants towards appropriate referral pathways where necessary.
- Coordinating effectively with CHDPI and the project team before, during and after the session.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Interested candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of durable solutions and core protection principles.
- At least 2โ3 years of relevant experience in protection, humanitarian programming, community engagement, durable solutions or related areas, preferably working with displaced and host communities.
- Proven experience in community facilitation and information sessions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English and Hausa and good understanding of the local context and protection concerns affecting communities in MMC/Abbaganaram.
- Knowledge of PSEA, safeguarding, confidentiality and Do-No-Harm principles.
- Familiarity with relevant protection and other service providers and referral pathways.
- Availability to prepare for and deliver the assigned session and coordinate with CHDPI/project staff.
