Project Background
FRAD Foundation is implementing a humanitarian project designed to support vulnerable children and families across Borno State. A key component of this project is Child Protection (CP) Case Management, ensuring that children at risk or survivors of abuse, neglect, violence, or exploitation receive timely, confidential, and appropriate support.
The project focuses on:
- Providing child protection case management services, including psychosocial support, family tracing, and referrals.
- Raising community awareness on child protection, child rights, and safeguarding.
- Strengthening collaboration with local authorities, schools, healthcare providers, and psychosocial support actors.
To achieve these objectives, FRAD Foundation is seeking qualified and dedicated Child Protection (CP) Case Management Assistants to support project implementation across Bama, Ngala, and Gwoza LGAs.
Position Summary
The Child Protection (CP) Case Management Assistant will provide quality child protection case management services while ensuring compliance with child safeguarding principles, humanitarian standards, and organizational policies.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Protection Officer to deliver child-focused interventions, strengthen community protection systems, and improve access to essential support services for vulnerable children and families.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Child Support
- Provide direct support to children at risk or survivors of abuse, exploitation, or neglect.
- Deliver psychosocial first aid, family tracing, reunification support, and referrals.
- Conduct child protection needs assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain confidential and accurate case management records.
- Ensure ethical handling of sensitive child protection information.
Community Engagement & Child Protection Awareness
- Conduct community awareness sessions on child protection, child rights, and safeguarding.
- Collaborate with schools, community leaders, youth groups, and parent associations to identify vulnerable children.
- Promote referral pathways for health, education, psychosocial, and livelihood services.
Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with local authorities, Child Protection Committees, schools, healthcare providers, and humanitarian partners.
- Participate in Child Protection coordination meetings and cluster activities.
- Promote integration of child protection and safeguarding standards across project activities.
Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate case files and documentation.
- Track child protection trends, challenges, and outcomes.
- Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports.
- Contribute to lessons learned, case studies, and best practice documentation.
Capacity Building
- Support the training and mentoring of community volunteers and project staff.
- Promote child safeguarding awareness among project teams and partners.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Child Protection or Case Management, preferably within humanitarian or development settings.
- Proven experience supporting vulnerable children and at-risk families.
- Experience using CPIMS+ or similar Child Protection Case Management Information Systems.
- Strong understanding of child protection standards, safeguarding principles, and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of the local context and challenges in Bama, Ngala, or Gwoza LGAs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in challenging and remote environments.
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous experience working in Northeast Nigeria.
- Familiarity with referral systems for health, education, psychosocial, and protection services.
- Knowledge of gender inclusion, protection mainstreaming, and community-based child protection approaches.
