Job Summary
The Gender Field Support Officer will support the implementation of gender-focused programme activities at community level, helping to ensure that women, girls and other vulnerable groups are meaningfully included, protected and supported.
The position will work closely with programme teams, communities and relevant stakeholders to strengthen gender-sensitive programming and promote safe and inclusive participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation of gender-related programme activities in assigned communities.
- Conduct community mobilization and sensitization activities.
- Promote gender equality and women’s and girls’ participation in programme activities.
- Support identification of gender-related risks and protection concerns.
- Assist programme teams in integrating gender considerations into activities.
- Support community awareness sessions on gender, protection and related issues.
- Engage community leaders, women, girls and other relevant stakeholders.
- Support referrals of identified protection concerns through established referral pathways.
- Collect and document relevant field information.
- Support monitoring and reporting of gender-related activities.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Ensure activities follow safeguarding, protection and Do No Harm principles.
- Perform other duties relevant to the programme as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Community Development or a related field.
- Relevant experience in gender, protection, humanitarian or community-based programming is an advantage.
- Experience working with women, girls and vulnerable communities is desirable.
- Experience in community mobilization and sensitization is an advantage.
- Knowledge of gender equality, protection and safeguarding principles.
