Job Summary
The Social Worker will support vulnerable individuals, families and communities through social support, case identification, referrals, community engagement and follow-up.
The role requires a strong understanding of social and protection needs, confidentiality and ethical engagement with vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify vulnerable individuals and families requiring social support.
- Conduct basic needs and vulnerability assessments.
- Provide appropriate social support and guidance.
- Support case management and follow-up activities.
- Refer beneficiaries to appropriate specialized services when required.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
- Conduct regular follow-up visits with beneficiaries.
- Support community outreach and sensitization activities.
- Engage community leaders and relevant stakeholders.
- Support identification of protection concerns.
- Participate in service mapping and referral pathway activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity of beneficiaries.
- Contribute to programme reports and documentation.
- Support other programme activities as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Community Development, Development Studies or a related field.
- Relevant experience working with NGOs, humanitarian organizations or vulnerable communities is an advantage.
- Experience in case management, protection, psychosocial support or community-based programming is desirable.
- Good understanding of humanitarian principles and safeguarding.
- Experience working with women, children and other vulnerable groups is an advantage.
