Job Summary

The Senior Technical Advisor – Malaria will provide technical leadership for the planning, implementation and monitoring of malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment interventions under the BRIDGE project.

The role will provide strategic and technical support for malaria programming, strengthen malaria surveillance and data use, and support the integration of malaria services with HIV, TB and MNCH platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment interventions.
  • Guide the scale-up of malaria case management, chemoprevention and vector-control activities in supported states.
  • Ensure malaria interventions align with National Malaria Elimination Programme guidelines and donor requirements.
  • Strengthen malaria surveillance, data use and quality improvement at facility and community levels.
  • Support integration of malaria services with HIV, TB and MNCH platforms.
  • Deliver against the approved GHSD milestone plan and quarterly performance targets.
  • Support integration across HIV, TB, malaria and MNCH platforms.
  • Support the progressive transfer of programme functions to Government of Nigeria ownership.
  • Represent ECEWS in national and state malaria technical working groups.

Qualifications & Experience

  • First degree in Medicine, Public Health or a related health field.
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or a related field is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in malaria or infectious disease programme management.
  • Minimum 5 years in a technical leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of national malaria guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of donor-funded malaria programming.
  • Strong analytical, coordination and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • High level of integrity and professional maturity.
